I absolutely love this location, however I always seem to catch them at odd hours. The staff here are a lot more friendly than the folks at bay local. However, the food at bay local maybe better? Seems like they tend to copy each others ideas sometimes. Leaping Lizard has a phenomenal baker on board, so don't miss their pastry table while you're here. It feels less crowded inside and the outdoor atmosphere is a lot of fun, we can walk around with our drinks and enjoy visiting the waterside and fluffy ducks outback. I always feel like I'm stopping by a friend's place when we pop in to say hello! It's Good spot for a coffee date or a family gathering. The food is super fresh too!

What an adorable little place! The garden area is so cute, shaded and comfortable. The chicken salad sandwich was very good - I loved the subtle curry flavor. The key lime pie is a MUST TRY! Very dog friendly, our dog was brought water and even a tennis ball :)

I really enjoyed a late breakfast at the leaping lizard Cafe. We ordered the quiche and a breakfast burrito and both were of course you can get a drink with that so I guess that makes it brunch! The little side salad and apple slaw put this meal over the top. Great service and a unique atmosphere make this a must stop when I'm in Virginia Beach.

Brunch has no limits at the Leaping Lizard! Tucked away among greenery, this spot serves breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. It's usually crowded, especially on weekends, so a reservation is a good way to go. Went with three other folks who were all impressed with their meals. The brunch menu has great specialties for those who prefer savory or sweet items. Their baked goods are also great!

I stopped by the Leaping Lizard Cafe recently with a friend of mine for breakfast and he was blown away by the food, staff and general atmosphere here. The Leaping Lizard Cafe is located on Shore Drive in the heart of Virginia Beach. I will say right off the bat, this place gets busy so it pays to shop early if you don't want to wait for a table. When it's nice outside, they have outdoor dining. I highly recommend checking it out because it's so beautiful out there. The staff is super friendly and helpful with menu questions and suggestions if you're on the fence about what to order. I really enjoy the eggs Benedict and I've learned over the years to let my server know exactly how I like mine prepared. I like a warm runny center on my eggs. I like the English muffins to be lightly toasted. I find when I communicate how I prefer my order to be, most will honor my request. There are some that ignore my requests and that aggravates me to no end. I couldn't be happier with my experience at the Leaping Lizard Cafe and I highly recommend a visit.

LOVE this charming little brunch spot just off of Shore Drive. The restaurant looks unassuming when you first walk in. But when you step inside, the interior is eclectically but tastefully decorated and the indoor seating transitions seamlessly into the outdoor seating in a rather expansive backyard. And the smells! As soon as you walk in, you can see a set of tables lined with their specialty bakery items of the day. When we visited, they had blueberry scones & chocolate croissants (spoiler alert: both were out of this world). We were seated promptly, even for a group of 7 on a Sunday morning (but fair warning, it filled up FAST). Our waitress was a lovely woman whose me feel so taken care of. We were seated outside where they had chickens and dogs roaming around. But none of them were intrusive at all. And the food. Their menu is filled with fresh eats. Mostly everyone at the table tried something different and no one had a single complaint. I highly recommend their crab quiche - it was very filling and very yummy! And it's worth mentioning again - snag a scone if you can!

This was my second time here within the month. I have to say I really enjoy this place. It's very personal and it feels like I'm home. The food has been top tier delicious!! Today I has the sampler which consisted of potato salad, chicken salad and tuna salad with a side salad and fresh fruit. This place is always busy and reservations are a suggested. Not too big on the parking but no complaints just arrive ahead for good timing. The servers are always smiling and taking good care of the guest and they are knowledgeable of the menu items. The atmosphere here is always full and buzzing with morning chatter. Lots of coffee cups, mimosa glasses and bloody Mary's everywhere. From the entrance to the outside seating the entire vibe was grand and of course I'll be back !

If you're looking for a cozy, unique and welcoming atmosphere, you've found it. Perfect for casual brunches and lunches with amazing indoor and outdoor seating. We came on a Saturday around 11:30am and we were seated outside with no wait. Service was great, food was good. I wouldn't say that any of the food blew our socks off, but it felt like a well-done, cozy home cooked meal, which is often exactly what you want. We tried: Blueberry Biscuit Breakfast burrito Crab quiche All good!
